I desperately need your help.

Opening a ketchup packet can feel like way more of a high stakes situation than it should be. Before opening the packet, you’re just hoping it will go smoothly. Then, inevitably, despite using all of your concentration to attempt to open the finicky plastic packaging, your rip goes askew and the packet is spewing its contents onto everything except for your targeted item.

Why is this ketchup package so hard to open?!

How on earth do you open the “Heinz Dip & Squeeze Ketchup” packets? (Tear off cap TO SQUEEZE, top part)

Lately, I’ve been resorting to scissors, pliers, and wire cutters, but with no luck. I might be losing some hand strength due to my age, but the store manager is starting to look at me very strangely! 😫

UPDATE / HOW TO DO IT:

For anyone else secretly struggling and about to bring a toolbox to lunch, here is the secret code:

• To DIP: Wipe the packet with a dry napkin for grip, find the textured, ribbed tab at the very top edge, and peel the film back.
• To SQUEEZE: Look at the narrow tip and tear at the tiny notch.

Mystery solved, and the manager can finally stop watching me! 🍟
